Consultation Fees
For your convenience the fees are the same for each of the doctors.
The Hub Medical Centre is a mixed billing practice. All pension
card
holders and children under 16 years are bulk billed. For all other
patients, a standard consultation is billed at $65 and a long
consultation
is $120. Please present your valid Medicare card at each
appointment.
Reminders
Our practice is committed to preventative care. We may issue you
with a reminder notice from time to time. If you do not wish to be
a part of this system, please let us know at reception.
Confidentiality
Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this
practice to maintain security of personal health information at all
times
and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised
members
of staff.
Prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions may be requested without a consultation. The
fee for this service is $15.
Referrals
Requests for ongoing or reissuing of expired referrals without a
consultation will incur a $20 fee, if the doctor is happy to write
without a consultation. Any new referrals will need an appointment
to be
written.
Requests for results
Phoning for results can be done daily between the hours of 3pm and 5pm.
If the nurse on duty is unavailable at the time of your call, a
message
will be taken for her to call you back. Feel free to discuss any
medical
concerns you have with the nursing staff.
Hygiene
Hub Medical Centre has strict infection controls in place to avoid
risks of disease or illness transfer, including autoclaving of
medical
instruments. Patients with potentially contagious conditions or low
immune
systems can wait in a private area to be seen.
Home visits
Home visits are available to regular patients who reside within 5km of
the surgery. Should you require a home visit, please phone and talk
with
the reception staff who will discuss the situation with the Doctor
and make
the appropriate arrangements.
Doctor Communications
The Doctors of The Hub Medical Centre are happy to speak to patients
over
the phone provided messages are left. The doctors will return calls
at a
convenient time.
Personal Service
Practice nurses are available on duty during business hours to discuss
any
problems, whether a patient of the surgery or not.
